Are you longing for winter? Try indoor skiing

It's hard to keep skiing abstinence in check during the summer months. Fortunately, there are indoor slopes you can visit. Here are some of the best in the world.

World's biggest

The 80,000sq m Wanda Ski Park in China officially opened in summer 2017, the world's largest snow covered indoor park. Wanda Ski Park has two chairlifts and six slopes, the longest of which is 500m. The indoor slope is in the city of Harbin, often called “Ice City”. Temperatures can fall to 30 degrees below zero in winter in Harbin so stepping into Wanda Ski Park can feel like coming in from the cold.

World's longest indoor piste

The AlpinCenter in Bottrop, Germany, boasts the world's longest indoor ski slope. The AlpinCenter opened in 2001 and the 640m piste attracts thousands of ski lovers each year. Experienced skiers can practice here to improve, and beginners can learn to ski. Visitors don’t need any prior experience as there is a ski lift conveyor that takes you to the top of the slope very easily, instead of a chairlift.
