Glamping - In tents satisfaction

You don’t have to travel far from the city to experience the joys of camping. Naturally, we’re talking about the luxury version of it, with premium tents, proper beds and chefs on duty.

Svartsö

A 40-minute boat transfer from Sweden’s capital takes you to Island Lodge on Svartsö, one of the 24,000 islands in the Stockholm archipelago. The lodge consists of seven twin bed tents, all located in premium spots, with magnificent views of the sea. A wood-fired oven keeps you warm should the Scandinavian summer turn cold, while cozy kerosene lamps light up your tent after sundown. A hike in the forest, a sauna and a swim in the sea are just steps away.

Treebones Resort

A premier camping resort located along one of the most spectacular stretches of the Californian coast, Big Sur. The cocoon-shaped tents are secluded on the edge of the resort, with their own private decks and outdoor fire pits – ensuring undisturbed views of beautiful sunsets. Here, you can experience true off-grid living without giving up urban comforts like comfy beds and your own bathroom.

Beverly Wilshire

The luxury Four Seasons hotel recently opened its very own glamping site – on the terrace of its Veranda Suite. Here, you’re not exactly surrounded by the wild outdoors, but rather by the bustling megacity that is Los Angeles, with unparalleled views of the Hollywood Hills and Rodeo Drive. The tent, placed on the tenth floor roof, features a queen-size bed, crystal chandeliers and antique nightstands. Out on the terrace, oversized lounge furniture surrounds a fireplace. With prices starting at $3,500 it’s certainly not for everybody – but one can always dream, right?

Garden Village

Travel enthusiasts have been raving about Slovenia for a while, but it’s still a little known gem compared with neighboring Italy and Croatia. With its cobalt blue waters, surrounding mountains and forests and a little island with a 15th century church, Lake Bled is like something straight out of a fairytale. Its natural beauty is easily experienced with Garden Village as a base. The air-conditioned, roomy tents are in private gardens, with double beds, TV, outdoor wooden tub and bathroom among the creature comforts.
