SAS presents #TrueTravelerMusic: Petter
Hip-hop legend Petter made his breakthrough in 1998 and was one of the first to put Swedish hip-hop on the map. He is behind some of Sweden’s biggest hip hop songs of all time, such as “Mikrofonkåt”, “Så klart”, “Repa skivan”, and “Håll om mig”, which together with his other songs have been played over 100 million times on Spotify. In 2015 Petter is still in the spotlight, with his latest hits “Kul på vägen” and “Leva & dö” and an extensive summer tour lined up.
Petter chooses his favorites, in his own words:
Ane Brun – Du gråter så store tårar
I was fortunate enough to hear Ane sing this live on a beach on the west coast of Sweden. It was the first time I heard it and for me it is perhaps one of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard. There is also an incredible Scandinavian feel to both the lyrics and the music. The words are like a beautiful poem at a level I have seldom heard before. It’s wonderful when you discover new music from an artist live.

Noice – En Kväll I Tunnelbanan
For me, this is my childhood, an echo of “Gula gången” at Slussen in Stockholm. At the same time, it is a song that reflects everyday life and its boredom and our eternal dream of getting out of the rat race that we so often find ourselves running in. It was written a long time ago, but I think we can all still relate to it today.

Lilla Namo feat Blen - Min
I had the honor of touring with these ladies on their “Ikväll är vi kungar 2015” tour last spring, when they performed this song, and I fell in love with the feel and sound. It is a real feel-good song that gives me a lift every time I hear it.
