Everything you can wish
Nakar Hotel
The newly opened Nakar Hotel is the latest addition to Palma’s Design Hotels chain. It has everything you could wish for; fantastic location (on the main shopping street Jaime III), a spa, roof terrace with infinity pool and rooms styled with local materials, earthy colors and modern, Majorcan design, that include Apple-TVs, Nespresso machines and hair care products from Molton Brown. A passion for everything local is echoed in the hotel restaurant CUIT, whose menu features traditional Majorcan dishes with a modern twist.
Breathtaking historic views
Hotel Sant Francesc
The view from the Sant Francesc roof terrace takes in the cathedral, the sea and the neighboring Gothic basilica after which the hotel is named. Soon after it opened in 2015, Condé Nast named this the hottest hotel of the year. Many original features have been preserved in the historic neoclassical style building, such as the decorated ceiling and hitching posts in the inner courtyard where they used to saddle their horses in bygone times. Breakfast is served in the former stables that have been transformed into a sober gourmet restaurant. The hotel rooms have a sophisticated but minimalist style. The color palette is white, gray and beige and many of the rooms are furnished with antiques and photo art.
For those with an unlimited budget
Son Bunyola
Are you a hedonist with an unlimited budget and a yearning for peace and quiet? If so, Son Bunyola, in northwest Majorca, is the place for you. It is Virgin founder Richard Branson's latest addition to his international hotel empire and consists of two luxury villas, Sa Punta De S’Aguila and Sa Terra Rotja, surrounded by vine fields and olive groves. The latter has four bedrooms, while Sa Punta de S’Aguila has five bedrooms and a terrace with views over the sea and the surrounding Tramuntana Mountains. Both villas have private pools and access to a nearby tennis court. The villas are let by the week only and include all food and drinks, prepared by a private chef.
The ultimate city hotel
Hotel Cort
Created by Spanish interior design architect Lázaro Rosa-Violán, one of the super stars of the design world, Cort is the ultimate city hotel for interior design fans. The hotel also has a fantastic location in the Old Town, right on Placa de Cort. The hotel restaurant is right next to the square's age-old olive trees, and is a popular meeting place for both hotel guests and local residents. The hotel also has a small roof terrace with sun loungers and mini pool. If you want to cool down in your own private pool, you can book The Island Suite with its own private roof terrace and jacuzzi.
Five-star luxury with all amenities
Park Hyatt
Majorca's latest luxury resort is like a private little village on the outskirts of Canyamel in northeast Majorca. There are 142 rooms including 16 suites, a spa, three pools and four restaurants. The nearest beach is a 10-minute walk away and there are also golf and tennis facilities nearby. The resort was opened in June 2016 by Hyatt and is the American chain's first hotel on the island.
