Celebrate New Year’s Eve in the US

After such a long-enforced travel break, many of us are ready to send to send off 2021 with a bang. Are you looking to celebrate upcoming New Year’s Eve in a bigger, better, American way? There are as many options as there are cities, but here are a few spots to check out.

New Year's in New York

In New York, gathering at Times Square on New Year's Eve is a classic, albeit rather crowded and busy, way of celebrating. To avoid all the hustle but still get a sense of the excitement and festive spirit, opt for a place with a view. Sky Room, the rooftop bar at the Marriott Hotel, offers a 360° panorama of Manhattan, including of course Times Square and the Empire State Building.

Luxurious Lady in Miami

Is New Year’s Eve without fireworks really New Year’s Eve? In Miami, one of the best ways to really enjoy the fireworks while partying at the same time is to go to sea. The South Beach Lady in Miami is a real party yacht, with four decks, two live DJs, open bar and a dinner buffet.

A winner in Windy City

Celebrating New Year's in Chicago, you’d want to make sure you get a good view of the Chicago River. At midnight, the river is lit up from Wolf Point to Lake Shore Drive, with river barges launching fireworks. Gibsons Italia offers not only a great view but also classic Chicago Steakhouse food with a twist. Oh, and a few years ago the restaurant also won Chicago’s 2018 Eater Award for best design, so be sure to look not only outside but admire the interior too.

Ring out the old in Hollywood

Going to Los Angeles, why not celebrate New Year’s Eve in old Hollywood style? The Tower Room on Sunset Boulevard is as classic Hollywood as it gets and is even located in mob boss Bugsy Siegel’s old apartment. Sip a cocktail, enjoy the live jazz pianist and imagine which celebrities used to sit at your table.

Celebrating by the sea in San Francisco

If you’re having dinner in San Francisco, seafood isn’t mandatory – but almost. Scoma’s Restaurant in the Fisherman’s Wharf area offers food “from pier to plate”, with the chef cooking whatever the fishermen have brought in earlier that day. The cozy dining area offers a great view of both the bay and the nearby Treasure Island. Celebrate New Year's Eve by the sea!

Party with the Politicos

Visiting le Diplomate in Washington, you’re not guaranteed to meet Joe and Jill Biden, but the couple have been spotted there quite a few times. Enjoying typical French food in a traditional Parisian bistro setting, you’ll probably spot one or two high-ranking officials and you may even get to eavesdrop on some political drama while welcoming the New Year in Washington.
