Niehku Mountain Villa in Riksgränsen attracts off piste skiers from all round the world for heli-skiing in a high-altitude mountain setting.

A visit to Niehku Mountain Villa in Riksgränsen is a must. This exclusive ski lodge was built on the site of the old iron ore line locomotive shed, that was in service between 1902 and 1923. The shed’s old semicircular wall runs through parts of this spectacular building, that is a few hundred meters from the Norwegian border.

The accommodation is top class, and also boasts an intimate spa complex, remarkable wine cellar and a White Guide rated restaurant.

Here, enthusiastic skier, guide, and hotel manager Johan “Jossi” Lindblom has create a unique place to meet, together with head chef Ragnar Martinsson.

Off piste skiing

With their own mountain guides and helicopter pad just outside, guests are set for action packed days in the mountains in both Kebnekaise and Abisko.

And evening meals consist of the very best of local Sami produce. How does croustade of smoked whitefish, reindeer tartare with dill mayonnaise, charred elk with beetroot and yarrow, plus arctic char with Norwegian mussels and mousse of peas, tickle your taste buds after a day of powder skiing?
