Ingegerd Råman’s world – Tokyo, New York and Österlen
New York
Dia:Beacon
An interesting and relatively new art gallery. Also makes a lovely excursion along the Hudson River by train from Grand Central Station.
Meatpacking District and Chelsea
An area worth exploring, with lots of art galleries (W17th – 24th Street, along 10th Avenue) as well as the long, elevated park promenade along the old High Line railroad, which has turned into something wonderful.
Fried Dumplings
A hole-in-the-wall eatery on Mosco Street in Chinatown.

You can comfortably walk between the various cultural and shopping centers. 21_21 Design Sight always has interesting exhibits.
Midtown Shopping Center
Excellent food stores and small fashion and design boutiques.
Axis Building
There’s a nice home furnishings store here called Living Motif.
The Nezu Museum
Housed in a grand building designed by architect Kengo Kuma. Worth a visit for its collections, temporary exhibitions of traditional arts and crafts, and the beautiful garden.

Österlen
Ale's Stones
Winter is the best time to visit Ale’s Stones, when the place is deserted and almost completely colorless and the stones stand like graphic signs pointing towards the sea.
Fyledalen
National Park, close to my home and great for hiking.
Ystad
With its beautiful historic center, this is one of my favorite cities. The long, sandy beach at Stenshuvud is the best place for swimming.
The palace garden at Övedskloster and Wanås Sculpture Park
There’s always something new to see at these places.
Daniel Berlin
For the finest dining, visit Daniel Berlin’s fabulous restaurant in Tranås, Skåne.
Mandelmann gardens and café
Simple yet full of charm.
