Nice is nice when it´s affordable
Getting around in Nice:
Rent a bicycle
Nice is a fairly walkable city, but if you want a quicker option, why not try the Vélobleu bicycles? The self-service bike program is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year in Nice, Cagnes-sur-mer and Saint-Laurent du Var, and costs only €1 for a day or €5 for seven days of unlimited use.
Go by train
If you’re looking to go further afield, the Pass Isabelle gives you a day of unlimited train travel in the Alpes-Maritimes region for the entire family (two adults and two children) for €35. Why not see how many of Cannes, Antibes-Juan-Les-Pins, Biot, Beaulieu, Cagnes-sur-mer, St-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, Eze, Monaco, and Ventimiglia you can check off in a day?
Where to eat in Nice:

Voyageur Nissart
This tiny, charming restaurant looks like all your Provençal fantasies in one. From the red-and-white checkered tablecloths to the authentic, inexpensive food and fantastic service, it’s hardly surprising that Voyageur Nissart is one of the most popular eateries in Nice, for locals and tourists alike.

L’Acchardio
This old-fashioned Provençal-style bistro is a Nice institution that has been run by the same family since 1927. Warm, welcoming and English-speaking (still not a given in the South of France!), they are masters of home-grown recipes such as beef daube in wine, cod stew and petits farcis. And they serve local wine straight from the barrel.

Where to stay in Nice:

Negresco
If your tastes are altogether more refined, why not take the opportunity to check in at one of Europe’s most glamorous historic hotels? Dating back to 1913, five centuries of history and art are exhibited throughout the opulent halls of Le Negresco. While a night here at the height of summer may well cost an arm and a leg, you can bag an off-season stay for two people for as little as €145/night.
