Seven unique hotels in Brussels

It’s time to go to Brussels! The city’s hotel scene is becoming increasingly eclectic, with concept hotels coexisting with heritage classics and many offering discounts when the EU offices close down at the weekends.

Pantone Hotel

The Pantone Hotel is the famous authority on color’s first and only foray into the field of hospitality and it’s as colorful as you’d expect, with each floor sporting its own palette. Adding a dose of local color is Belgian photographer Victor Levy, whose work features in all 61 rooms. This playful Saint-Gilles-located abode offers stylish accommodation at a price that won’t break the bank.

The Hotel

Soaring 27 floors above the upmarket Boulevard de Waterloo and joined at the hip (literally) with a Prada boutique, The Hotel started its days in the late 1960s as a Hilton, before it was transformed in 2013 at the cost of €35 million into its current incarnation. Considered one of Brussels’ top abodes, there are over 400 rooms and suites to choose from in this mighty landmark of luxury.

Vintage Hotel

As the name suggest, the décor of Hotel Vintage celebrates the past, but in a cool, contemporary way. Design geeks will recognize much of the furniture – the communal spaces and the 38 rooms are studded with mid-century classics. If you fancy accommodation with even more character, opt to stay in the vintage airstream caravan, designed by Wally Byan in 1958, parked up in the courtyard.
