Malibu is located about 50km from downtown Los Angeles. It is famed for its celebrity residents and gorgeous beaches. Here are some places to have some quintessential Malibu moments.

Try some Rosenthal and Surfrider wines in a casual atmosphere at the Rosenthal Tasting Room, located just across the road from Malibu beach. There is often live music here and food trucks in the garden, which has an exquisite ocean view.

Shop like the locals do for fresh food and fruit at Vintage Grocers. You can also treat yourself to fresh juice made from fruit from a nearby farm, or a hand-dipped Beachy Ice Cream at the juice and coffee bar. They also serve Kombucha on draft here, which they claim is the freshest probiotic-rich beverage available.

Malibu Surf Shack

Malibu’s local surf shop opened in 1972. It overlooks Malibu’s Surfrider Beach, known as one of the world’s most famous surf breaks, and it is a classic hangout for the town’s surfers. You can rent boards, kayaks and stand-up paddleboards here and get surf lessons.

Duke’s Malibu

This festive restaurant and bar overlooking the beach has a Hawaiian and surf theme.It is dedicated to surfing legend Duke Kahanamoku and the early days of surfing in Malibu. The food mixes influences from Mexico, Asia and Hawaii.
