Geneva’s Landmarks
Jet d’eau
The 140-meter-high Jet d’eau fountain is one of the city’s most famous landmarks. The fountain was built in 1886 and can be seen from almost anywhere in the city. The Jet d’eau is best experienced up close and preferably at night when it is beautifully illuminated in a variety of colors.
Historical Art Museum
Musées d’Art et d’Histoire de Genève
Musée d’art et d’histoire is Geneva’s largest museum—and probably one of its most beautiful. The works presented here comprise a collection ranging from the Middle Ages to the 1990s and from legends such as Jean-Baptiste-Camille Corot and Ferdinand Hodler, to name a few.
